How Do I Become A Successful Person?
Where will I be a year from now?
How will I get there?
A Dream–A plan with a deadline.
These questions seem easy to overcome, but studies show that over 74% of people don’t put their goals in writing…WOW!
I’ve written down 8 steps to goal setting and achievement.
1.) Identify it. – Write down your goals and exactly what you want to achieve.
2.) Date it. – Put a time limit on your goal, and finish it by the deadline. If you commit to a start and target an end, your goal achievement is questionable.
3.) List the obstacles you will have to overcome to achieve your goal. Identify an obstacle to prevent them from occuring.
4.) List the groups of people that will help you to achieve your goal. People will help you if you take some time to ask.
5.) Make a list of the skills and knowledge you need to achieve your goal. Do you have them, or do you still need to educate yourself? Make a plan to educate yourself with the skills you need.
6.) Make (or write down) an action plan for each goal. The more specific your plan is, the more likely you are to achieve it.
7.) List the benefits of goal achievement, ask yourself these questions: what’s in it for me after I achieve this goal? What’s my incentive? Is my incentive strong enough to ensure achievement?
8.) Take action everyday because it only takes about 15-30 minutes a day to chip away at goal achievement. Make a personal commitment to act on your goals…and live up to that commitment every day.
The secret to achieve a goal is to figure out the daily dose. You don’t want to over-dose and get frustrated, meaning you don’t want to do too much a day, just step by step each day in order to prevent stress. Save pennies per day, lose ounces per day, succeed per day, and achieve that daily dose each day.
Goals, Why Are They Important?
“A goal is something extravagant, it’s the finish line at the end of the race”
You are not unwise without a goal, you simply just have no idea where you’re going in life which isn’t wise either. Every single one of us, no matter where you are or what you have, or how much money you own, has a goal, or for some of you, a dream. I think you’ll agree with me that no matter how stuck in life you might feel, you can always get there if you try. It may not be easy, but think of every successful rich person out there, they all started from scratch just like we all do. You may not be proud of what you’ve done or what you haven’t accomplished but although you can’t change your past, you can always change your future.
